Baytown, “Where oil and water really do mix,” is located on the Gulf Coast. It lies within Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area, and it is that area’s fourth largest city. It’s population is 71,802. Exxon-Mobile is the largest employer in the area.
Baytown is home to a thriving arts and culture scene, bolstered by the Baytown Little Theater, which has been run by volunteers for 46 years; the Baytown Symphony, in residence at Lee College; and the San Jacinto Mall, which is anchored by Macy’s, and features the South Mountain Kiddie Rides.
